UPDATED: Drayton Manor announce Frontier Falls area for 2024!

Updated: Drayton Manor have announced the name of their new Area for 2024: FRONTIER FALLS. Still no firm details about the name or layout of the new Intamin Lift and Launch coaster, but Drayton Manor seem to be ramping up the advertising for 2024.

Drayton Manor, the little park that could, is building a new Intamin Coaster this year. Not much is known about it, apart from the fact is has no inversions, it has multiple switch tracks and both a launch and lift hill. It was rumoured to have a Wild West theme, which now seems to be confirmed.

Drayton have uploaded this 37 second teaser to their YouTube channel which shows 2 gun slingers having a stare down. This seems to be filmed at the park, as some of the buildings look like those that were under construction at the end of last season.

The end card says that the new land opens on the 24th March, so not long to go now. It’s not expected that the new Intamin lift and launch coaster will be open by then but the surrounding area has been refreshed to hook into the new Western Theme

In the description there is a link to this page on the Drayton Manor website which an embed of the above YouTube clip, a signup form and a teaser saying ‘Something exciting is coming…’.

It’s lining up to be a big year for Drayton Manor, just 4 years on from almost bankruptcy and a buy out, with the Intamin Light and Launch coaster opening and Shockwave (the old Intamin stand up coaster) have new sit down trains. It’s a shame to lose such an iconic coaster from the UK, but theme parks are businesses and not museums. Having brand new trains, along with probably a new control system, from a manufacturer that still provides spares and supports means Shockwave, now called The Wave, will live for many more years. The reduction to a 1.2M height restriction, down from a 1.4M height restriction, means more young thrill seekers will get to experience The Wave.
